June 23, 2009 - FREEDOM! (63 Weeks)

The 2008-2009 school year is officially over!!! Wednesday was the last day of classes, but teachers had to return for a half day to help with graduation. After graduation, we had a little get together at the CandleWood Country Club to celebrate our principal’s promotion to the district. Daniel and I were both able to attend since we had the nanny until 3:30 p.m. Everyone is so used to seeing us with the boys that when they don't, they quickly inquire as to their whereabouts.
Speaking of those little loves of my life, it is really weird to have them walking all over the house. Before they were confined to the back living room. They are no longer content with that situation. They want to explore every inch of this house! They take pots and pans out of the kitchen cabinets, empty the pantry of cans, walk into the bedrooms, canvas the living room, and whack door stoppers. As I crazily take pictures of these simple actions, I think to myself, "I am one lucky gal."
On Father's Day, we drove down to San Diego. We wanted to check out the House of Puerto Rico, a mini museum down by the San Diego Museum of Art. It was small but quaint. On the advice of a worker, we ate at Andre's Patio (A Puerto Rican/Cuban Restaurant). The food was good but not what we expected. We had planned on going to the beach afterward, but the boys were ready to go home. We fed them after stopping to get milk and headed back home. Their cat nap gave them the energy to give daddy his presents and Father's Day cake. It was a good day.

Yay! You made it thru your first year with the boys at home.

How great the summer will be, enjoying them all day, every day, and seeing all the daily milestones.
