June 27, 2010 - Splish~SPLASH!

We took the boys for the first time to SPLASH! Anthony enjoyed this outing far more than Daniel on this visit. He jumped right in and took to the water slide and tubular slide at Bucaneer Bay immediately. Daniel warmed up to this new environment a little but preferred much more to be on the sidelines. Maybe the second time will be a charm.

June 24, 2010 - Monumental Day: Bobo Be Gone

Monumental Moment: We finally snipped off the bulbs of their last two pacifiers (a.k.a bobo). Daniel snipped off one and I the other. I prayed a silent prayer in my heart that we would survive the next few days and the blood curdling screams that I was sure would escape these boys' lungs, especially at bedtime. They are officially "broken" and can no longer be used. The pieces were brought over to Daddy and me by both the boys for repair to only be told that they were "broken." They were a bit bewildered and at times frustrated, but they've adjusted. We will soon be embarking onto our next mission: bottles!
Penny for my thoughts: I am sooo thankful and happy to have a job that permits me this wonderful time with our sons. We've got memberships to the LA Zoo, La Habra Children's Museum, and Splash activated. Excursions are being planned for Knotts Berry Farm, Mother's Beach, Pretend City, Balboa Island, Orange County Great Park, pre-readers program at our local library, free movies at the Regal Cinemas, the park, family bowling, and therapy will surely fill their days as well. And, of course, tons of picture taking by Mamma Blas!!!!

June 6, 2010 - Travel Town Birthday Party

We were invited to attend Eli and Max's 3rd train-themed birthday party at Travel Town in the Griffith Park/LA Zoo area! It is a neat place with a picnic area, railroad museum, and a mini-train for the kids to ride in. The boys were soooo excited and curious that I spent much of the time running around after them. This was the first birthday party they've attended. How appropriate since it was for twin boys :) Happy birthday, Max and Eli! Thanks for inviting us to your fabulous party! Liz, you and your family did an outstanding and creative job. Thanks for the "chips;)"

June 5, 2010 - Therapy Begins

The boys' therapy started this week! They each qualified for 2 hours of infant stimulation and 2 hours of speech therapy. Being that there is no medical issue with eith of them, we are not receiving services through Kaiser, but instead through ELARC. The ladies working with the boys, Neha and Kerrie, are fabulous. They both have experience working with twins, are energetic, friendly, flexible and liked by the boys. Daniel and Anthony enjoy and are actively engaged in the fun and effective activities done with them (indentifying animals and their sounds, colors, working with puzzles, legos, blocks, reading books, etc.) With all that additional support combined with me being somewhat off this summer,I have no doubt they will be increasing their vocabularies and ability to express themselves better in no time!:)

June 2, 2010 - Productive Weekend Seasoned With a BBQ!

We spent the weekend scratching things off our "To Try" list! This list was formerly known as the "To Do" list, but with twins it has now been renamed.;) After going to early service and having breakfast with my guys, we entertained the thought of going down to San Diego via train and enjoying some R&R. However, the responsible gene overpowered the spontaneous gene, and we stayed home. We accomplished lots but not as much as I would have liked. Memorial Day we BBQ'd and enjoyed vino with our neighbors Jim and Martha.
