December 28, 2012 - Ice, Ice, Baby!

Pershing Square in Downtown LA has an ice skating rink set up for the holidays.  Daddy wanted to skate, but being that his foot is still on the mend, it was better that he didn't join us on the ice; instead, he played photographer :) To skate with the boys without an extra pair of hands proved to be a labor of Hercules.  We all bit it several times but got right back up. My pride wasn't too wounded since the likelihood of ever seeing these fellow skaters was slim to none :)
I witnessed a definite reversal of roles with the boys doing this activity.  Daniel, who is usually the one who tends to be more hesitant and observant with new activities, jumped right in and was ready to fly solo pretty quickly. Anthony, who usually is the first one to jump right in with most things, showed fear and hesitation.  He was clearly frustrated  with his inability to get it as quickly as Daniel and shed tears as he clinged on to the rail (or me) for dear life.
Me: "Anthony, how you doing?"
Anthony: "I'm not doing so well!" (angry voice)
Anthony: "I'm getting so mad at you." (in response to me moving away from the rail)
A happy ending....by hour's end he was pretty comfortable and even smiling.

Look at you, Anthony!

Go, Daniel, go!

We've got the moves like Jagger! Wipeout!

The End!
