This week we took the boys to eat at the place where it all began for Daniel and me four years ago: Senor Big Ed's in Cypress. There is nothing special about the place by any means. It is a little hole in the wall restaurant that serves Puerto Rican(and Mexican) food. It seemed apropos for us to meet there for our blind date being that we are both Puerto Rican. Maybe it was the nostalgic smell of mom's kitchen as we entered the door. Maybe it was the magic of being New Year's Eve. Whatever the case, it will always be a special place for us because it was there that our last first date happened.
*It amazes me that with all the toys these two have, their favorites seem to be the simple things: pots and pans, sofa cushions, and tupperware.

You are *killing* me with that restaurant reminder! Yum, mofongo! Alas, there are many great things about living remotely, yet a few downsides (diversity of ethnic restaurants).
And - I didn't know that was the location of your first date! How sweet. ☺
