February 23, 2010 - Where's Your Nose? (98 Weeks)

Anthony sat up on the couch next to me with one of his animal books. I asked him where the bear cub's nose was. I pointed to it and then said, "Anthony's nose." He then touched my nose. "Good job! Mommy's nose." A very cute and unexpected moment for us. I asked our cutie Daniel where his nose was, and he quickly took his finger and inserted it into his nostril. Definitely unexpected but not very cute. When dear husband came home, I asked little Daniel to show daddy his nose. He repeated the action running across the living room and giggling. Daddy's reaction to it was different than mine. He was quite amused. Go figure???!!!!
Twin stuff: I mentioned that Daniel has this habit of putting the handle of his pacifier in the up position. Well, he has transferred that action to the handles of our dressers. It is not uncommon to see all the reachable dresser handles upward. Peek-A-Boo is quite the hit with them, especially Anthony! They both mimic their mommy's coffee habit.

February 16, 2010 - Road Trip (97 Weeks)

Another three day weekend. Yahoo!!!! While I was at work, Daniel rented the mini-van and took care of the many last minute errands that needed to be done before we took off to Livermoore for the weekend. With the van packed, our family including our dog, took north to visit my step-sister who is due to deliver a baby girl in March. Seven hours later, 2 restroom breaks, and one mini-twin meltdown, we found ourselves safely at our destination. Awaiting us was cerveza and good Puerto Rican food compliments of my stepmom, which instantly made the long trip worth it.
On Valentine's Day, we searched the quaint downtown area for a place to have lunch. Yin Yin seemed so apropos considering we have twins. We walked off lunch strolling the streets and taking to the park where the boys made friends.
The weekend went by too quickly, as good times so often do. Before we knew it, it was time to make our way home. Although we didn't make the scenic stops I had envisioned making on this trip north, it was a very much needed break for us.
Twin Stuff: Anthony said "tree" in front of everyone but me since I was in the flower shop getting the boys red Valentine's Day balloons.

February 9, 2010 - Me Time ! (96 Weeks)

If you were to ask me what was the last movie I saw, I probably couldn't remember. It has been sometime since hubby and I have gone to the movies. What week is this entry? 96? Well, it has been at least 96 weeks! I take that back. I just remembered...I saw S&TC shortly after it premiered in 2008 with my dear Mich. My friend, Norma, called and asked if I wanted to go to the show since her hubby would be watching the Super Bowl. Daniel stayed with the boys, so I could go and get some ME time. Being that we don't have family close by, ME time and US time doesn't happen too often unfortunately. We love being parents to these guys, but sometimes you don't realize just how much you need that breath of fresh air until you've come up to the surface and taken a really deep breath.
Twin Stuff: Daniel takes my hand and leads me to where he wants to go. Daniel has this thing of putting the handle of his pacifier upward. I repeatedly put it down, and he puts it back up by his nose. Bizarre! He also likes to hide in the hallway closet and call out for us. Anthony puts on my shoes and wobbles in them throughout the house. Anthony says "Wow" in a long drawn out way. I think he's learned that word because of the show Wow Wow Wubbzy. He also says, "Go" because Daniel chases him throughout the house saying, "Go, go, go." Or, it could be because of his show,Go Diego Go.
P.S. It is not unusual for us to find puzzle pieces and toys in our shoes.

February 2, 2010 - Stateline or Bust! (95 Weeks)

Several staff members joined together to support a fundraiser for our 8th graders upcoming Washington, D.C. trip in April. It was no cliche fundraiser of a car wash or sale of goodies. The fundraiser was nothing less than a turn around trip to Stateline. A full day of fun with friends for a cause. I'm not much of a gambler, but I was game to hit the outlets, have a cocktail with my gal pals, go carb crazy, and enjoy the bus ride which was sure to be fun. Daniel and the boys dropped me off at school at 7:15 a.m. With tears in my eyes, I said goodbye. The tears I guess was from knowing that I wouldn't be just a mile away from home, as is the case when I'm at work. I'd be far...too far if something happened. I snapped out of it and boarded the bus. The ride there went by fast because of the raffles, "catering", rest stop break, and Carlos our amusing bus M.C. and hostess Leah. My circle (Janet,Darlene, Cathy, and Kerry) sure did win a lot of the raffles. We won things like a: Bed Bath and Beyond goodie bag, Universal Studios tickets, Starbucks gift card, Jamba Juice gift card, coffee travel mugs, ITunes gift card etc. Basically, we hit the jackpot even before hitting Stateline. Once at our destination, time flew. I never made it to the outlets or the roller coaster. I did find my way to a roulette table, a game of which I know nothing about. I was not too impressed with the game as my $2 bet got swept away faster than I can say two dollars. However, as I placed a bet again on my sons' birthday, I won $76 dollars. I won again, which I am sure was beginner's luck. Unlike my friends, I am quick to take the money and run. Before you knew it, it was time to eat and board the bus. The trip home was much quieter for most of the passengers. The Circle's trip home was hilarious because of Janet's Chargers blanket we thought someone was warming themselves with (you had to be sitting with us to understand this). I love you, Girls!!!! We need to do an outing again :)
P.S. Kerry: Black, Red, Even, Odd...
